Item Upgrading: 11 Things You're Leaving Out

World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses like PvE damage and crit chance. If the weapon's upgrade template is in %, the weapon will gain 3percent of its previous attack damage every time it is upgraded. The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with item's level. Components Upgrade components are items that can be put into weapons, armor, and trinkets to give a stat bonus or extra effect when they're used. They can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors trading or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects. Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment with a slot for them. The item must have been at a minimum upgraded to blue level for a component to be used. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used once and can't be used multiple times or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment, as well as some of the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns. A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it is used on (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions using less Upgrade crystals than they require to achieve the same level using standard methods. A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defence attributes of the weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. They can also be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear, or by buying them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals each. Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-tier version of the item will be revealed during the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their gear, even if they are unsure how much it will be improved after the reset. The process of upgrading an item can be costly and it's possible that the item will become obsolete, or even break, when the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the possibility of failure. Some upgrades also offer a bonus if they are reinserted. Glyphs Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, and include any existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded many ways, and we suggest getting them up to level 15 as soon as possible. In the endgame you'll often discover that the best way to improve your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component which can be upgraded to level 15 and give a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board. Glyphs, the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced again are the most popular. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install. Each Glyph has a particular range of values it can improve a stat by, and the value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with another Glyph with the same rank or higher rank, which will boost the value of the glyph. There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use as well as through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the various Glyphs as well as also a few rare glyphs to be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts. Once you have the desired Glyphs, you will need to place them on your equipment. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats. Using the Glyph will boost all the nodes connected to it, so it is recommended to position your Glyphs near the most important nodes of the Graph to maximize the impact. For example, a Druid should aim to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes, but you should also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes as well. Leveling The item upgrading system allows players to increase the stats of specific items by putting upgraded components in them. This is referred to as “upping”. Each upgradeable item is assigned a level that determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level requires a different amount of components and the costs for upgrading increase as the item gets leveled up. Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or obtained from NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to level the item, and when enough are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item. When an individual player upgrade a piece of equipment it will be replaced by a new item. This means that the same armor piece will get the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item will have its own set bonus. This could be a drawback in that it could make the item more expensive if you do not require it. If the player has enough tokens, they can reroll item upgrade s. The item will be replaced by the same item, but it has a base of level 1 and completely different bonuses. This can be useful for some items, but it's not something that should be repeated often, as it can waste a lot of resources. Certain upgrades can boost their value and allow players to modify their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants an increase in power if the player continuously enters or exits the water. This item can be upgraded several times by increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item can be very valuable in PvP, as the best version of it can be worth between 20 and 50 times its value without being upgraded. Requirements The item upgrader allows players to increase the level of their equippable equipment (armor weapons, weapons trinkets, and armor) beyond ilvl385 by handing over the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense base of that piece, while upgrading weapon items will increase the base damage and required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements. Each item can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an object it has a chance of failing. The failure rate increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting to its original condition, which requires the player to pay for more materials than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount. If an item is not upgraded the experience bar in its growth bar will be reset to zero. In addition, the item will lose any bonuses it gained such as crit chance and attack damage, and all other effects that are associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or the speed of reloading). The player is able to use their weapon or armor after the failure. When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that when a weapon gains an increase in crit chance the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the definition of the item and the value is calculated every time an upgrade is applied. The amount of resources required to upgrade an item are based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to its value. For example, a common item might have five upgrades at a cost of. 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance—whereas hero quality items will have the lowest cost for each upgrade. Premium items might require different upgrades than regular gear. For instance, they may need less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. Players will still have to carry every piece of gear they wish to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each equipment upgrade requires a different amount of the upgrade ingredients.
